Where the Season Goes Next: Albania, Zante, Tenerife, Mykonos and Punta Cana
Malta's season has a closing date. Gianpula winds down through the first week of September, the rooftops follow, and Toy Room carries the last of it into the autumn. Every year the same question comes back from the same people: where next? Malta Nights now points at five answers, each with its own site and its own calendar — Albania, Zante, Tenerife, Mykonos and Punta Cana. Here is what is actually on at each of them, and who each one is for.
The entry prices below are the ones listed on each destination's site at the end of August 2026; dates and line-ups move, so the event pages are always the last word.
Albania: Saranda and Ksamil, still running in September
The Albanian Riviera is the newest destination on the map and the one still going while Malta packs up. The season is built around Ksamil and Saranda, and it is unusually cheap for what you get: the Vikingen boat party out of Saranda starts from €45, the El Mar boat tour from €40, and a club night like Love Night at Poda Lounge Bar from €15.
The venues are the reason to go. Greg Beach Club in Ksamil looks out over the islets by day and turns into an open-air club after dark — it is where the White Party runs on Sundays. Mulino Beach is built on the rocks at the north end of Ksamil with the bar inside a real windmill and a saltwater infinity pool that reads as an extension of the Ionian. Lost Seaside, on the coast road between the two towns, hosts the White Party sunset edition on Tuesdays, and the Infinity Sunset Pool Party at Bougainville Bay is the one to book if you want a pool party without a club queue afterwards.

Zante: Laganas, and the only open-air stage on the island
Zante is the Italian answer to a Maltese August — the events are announced in Italian and the crowd in Laganas matches. Club Barrage has been open since 1991 and is the busiest room on the seafront, with Martedì Bianco on Tuesdays, the Elegant Party on Fridays and the Latin Party across its two rooms, a garden and a wooden pier over the water.
What Zante has and almost nowhere else on this list does is a proper concert venue: Gatsby Live Theatre in Argassi is the island's only open-air stage able to take major live acts, and it has hosted Guè, Shiva, Ludwig and Rondodasosa. Shows start around 23:30 and sell out well in advance. For daytime, Karma is the island's only five-star beach club, with a 400 m² pool, 40 poolside beds and ten cabanas, and El Paradiso sits on Laganas Bay for the sunset sessions.
Go if: you want a live concert as well as a club night, or you are travelling with an Italian crowd. Dates at Zante Party Vibes.
Tenerife: the one that does not stop in October
Tenerife is the practical answer to the end of the Mediterranean season, because the south of the island runs a full week of nightlife long after Malta has closed. There are 18 events on sale as this goes up, and the anchor is Papagayo in Playa de las Américas — the only club in the Canary Islands in DJ Mag's Top 100, ranked #76 in 2026, running a day-to-night concept across two floors and five bars. The week there goes Essence on Saturdays (€20), Piknik on Sundays (€15), Flirt on Mondays (from €25), Move On on Wednesdays (from €20) and Follow on Thursdays (€15).
Away from Papagayo: Mala Mía on Calle México is the urban and Latin room the locals actually use, with Urban on Saturdays and Chicas al Poder on Tuesdays at €15 including a drink and a shot; Monkey Beach has been running beach parties on Playa de Troya since 2007 and does the White Party every Wednesday from €25; and the daytime is covered by the Temptation pool party at Kaluna Beach Club (€20) and the beach party at OA Beach Club (from €15). There is a boat party out of Los Cristianos too, and, for something else entirely, the Scandal dinner show at €94.

Mykonos: four nights a week, one address
Mykonos is the shortest list here and the most concentrated: WE ❤ MYK Club runs Love Night on Thursdays, its Friday night, the White Party on Saturdays and the Neon Party on Sundays, with doors around 23:45. It is the same format anyone who has done a Maltese August will recognise, on an island that charges Mykonos prices for it — so book the beds before the tickets, not the other way round. Punta Cana: the winter plan, being built for 2027
Punta Cana is the one that solves the months when the Mediterranean is shut. The 2027 season is being put together now with three fixtures at partner venues: the pool party at Pearl Beach Club, where the deck faces straight onto the Caribbean; the White Party at Cielo Beach Club, beachfront and strictly all-white; and the island's biggest catamaran boat party out of Salvaje Beach Club, with an open bar and a swim stop at the natural pools, 18+ only.

None of this replaces the end of a Maltese season, which is the busiest fortnight of the year.
